Russia Said To Want De Gaulle, Anti-U.S. Controlling France
LONDON. Nov 26 (Recd 6.30 pm). —The French Socialist leader, M. Blum, believes Moscow i« secretly working to bring General de Gaulle to power. "De Gaulle is anti-American and Moscow wants American aid stopped,” M. Blum declared, according to the Associated Paris correspondent. M. Blum added: "Communists are incapable of taking power legally <’ illegally ir. France because they are diminishing. Moscow knows this, but will sacrifice the French Communist? without the slightest scruple in the interests of international anti-Ameri-can policy.” De Gaulle recently-declared that-if returned to power he will oppose the current Allied strategy, even at the risk of losing American aid. He added: “We have lived for centuries without the Marshall plan.”
