Funeral Of Girl Killed In Accident With Tramcar
The funeral took place at Aramoho Cemetery yesterday afternoon of Margaret Jean Cook, aged 155 years, a pupil of the Wanganui Girls’ College, who died from injuries suffered in an accident with a tram during the week-end.
The mourners at St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church included the ehalrrfian of the Board of Governors of the Wanganui Girls’ College (Mr. G. S. Gordon), members of the board, the principal (Miss M. E. Baker), members of the teaching and music staffs and prefects and house captains. During the service the school's senioi- choir sang “The Lord's Prayer.” The services at St. Paul’s and at the graveside were conducted by the Rev. T. A. Speer, of Fordell. A memorial service was held at the school yesterday morning.
