Truman Stands By Democratic Party's Policy
NEW YORK. Oct. 28 (Rec. 10.10 p.m.)—President Truman reiterated in his Madison Square Garden rally tonight that he stood by the Democratic Party’s platform on Palestine. The platform endorsed the United Nations’ resolution setting the boundaries for the Israel State. “I refused to play politics with the Palestine issue, firstly because it is my responsibility to see our policy regarding Israel fits in with our foreign policy world-wide; secondly, it is my Ihsire to help build in Palestine a strong, prosperous, free, independent State.”
