Secret Debate On Defences Of Britain Is Necessary

LONDON, Oct. 29 <Rec S pm).The British Parliament may discuss defence in a secret session, if at any time a state of the country requires it. . The Defence Minister (Mr Alexander), speaking in the House of Commons last night, said the suggestion of a secret session, which had been put forward by Mr Churchill earlier in the day. would be referred to the Leader of the House (Mr. Herbert Morrison). His own view was that if the circumstances required it, there was no objection to a secret session “in order that we might be perfectly frank on some of the main issues,” he added.

He left the impression that there was no immediate probability of such a step, says the “Daily Herald’s” Parliamentary correspondent.
