GAOL SENTENCES FOR NAZI GENERALS
LONDON, Oct. 29 (Rec. 5 pm)..— More German generals were found guilty of war crimes by an Ameri- ! can Court yesterday. I They were indicted for inciting, j promoting or ordering murder and I the ill-treatment of prisoners, war partisans and civilians of Nazi-occu-pied countries The following sentences were imoosed: Field-Marshal Wilhelm von Leeb, three years’ imprisonment. Field-Marshal George von Keuchlep and General Hermann, both 20 and 15 years’ imprisonment, respectively. Lieut.-Generals Narlimont and Reinecke, both to life imprisonment, i General von Salmuth and Lieut.i General von Roques, both to 20 ’years’ imprisonment. I Lieut.-General Woetier, to eight I years’ imprisonment. General Reintardt, to 15 years’ imI prisonment. • Lieut.-General Hollidt, to five years’ imprisonment. I The court ruled that the time l already spent in prison since capture ion May 7. 1946. be deducted from the I sentences, which means that von Leeb will be freed at once. Admiral Otto Schniewind was acquitted. Reuter’s Munich correspondent says the German news agency reI ported the executions of 159 German .war criminals sentenced to death by , American war tribunals would be resumed today in the Landsberg prison.
