Forecast, to 5 p.m.: Fresh West or north-west winds, strong in exposed positions; rain this morning but weather becoming fair this afternoon, apart from scattered showers in the high country; temperatures moderate or mild. Further outlook: Changeable showery weather. The New Zealand Friends’ School, St. John’s Hill, reports as follows for the 24 hours ended 6 p.m. yesterday: Sunshine, Bhrs. 30min. Rainfall, nil. Maximum temperature, 79deg. Minimum temperature, Time of sunset today, 5.59 p.m. Time of sunrise tomorrow. 5.10 a.m.
