PATRIOTIC AND CANTEEN FUNDS BILL
PARLIAMENT BLDGS, Last Night (PA).—ln the House of Representatives tonight, the Minister of Internal Affairs (Mr. Parry), moving the second reading of the Patriotic and Canteen Funds Amendment Bill, said the Government desired to see that there was no misunderstanding in connection with the administration of the funds of the board. The Government never had that desire, and the Bill was an indication that the Government did not wish to have anything to do with the funds at all. It would be left to the board to administer the funds.
Mr. R. M. Algie (Opp., Remuera) said the Bill was purely an administrative one and it could quite safely and speedily be passed. The Bill had been considered fully. The Bill was read a second time.
