Search For Armed Man Fruitless
NEW PLYMOUTH,' Last Night (PA).—Although the armed man, tor whom the New Plymouth police have been combing the district night and day, had not been run to earth at a late hour tonight, two theories concerning his recent movements are held by the police. One is that he returned to New Plymouth on Tuesday night after a chase towards Omata. and the other is that he may now be on his way to Auckland.
Supporting the latter theory is the fact that a car removed from Westown last night was recovered today at To Kauwhata, 54 miles south of Auckland.
