South Africa Is Looking To Her Defences

A. —Reuter—Copyright) CAPETOWN, Oct 27 (Recd 8.40 pm).—South Africa’s local defence associations are to be increased from 25,000 to 80,000 and members, according to an announcement by the Defence Minister (Mr. F. C. Erasmus). Men between 17 and 25 should receive intensive military training, he rdded. He appointed a committee to nvestigate what industries could help o supply military equipment, and ow thev could speedily be converted o this end.
