Wanganella Salvage
SUM PAID TO WANGANUI BOARD j WAS NOT CLEAR PROFIT i With reference to the report published yesterday to the effect that the | Wanganui Hafbour Board had made ■a prolit of £13,491 from salvage money | received as the result of help given the stranded liner Wanganella on Barrett’s Reef, Wellington, nearly two years ago, the chairman of the board (Mr. E. A. Millward) says from that amount a considerable sum has to be deducted. He said that the board had to pay the wages of the crew, the tug’s running expenses anrl insurance. In addition to that, the hoard had to pay quite a large sum for overhaul of the tug after her salvage work.
