LONDON, Oct. 9 (Recd. 7pm).— England beat Australia by 23 points to 21 in the first Rugby League test at Headingley today, after leading 11 6 at half-time. The game was fast and clean. Graves, Churchill and Mulligan played brilliantly for the Kangaroos. McCormack and Foster starred for England. A crowd of about 38.000 saw the match.
