England Beats The Kangaroos In First League Test
LONDON, Oct. 9 (Recd. 7pm).— England beat Australia by 23 points to 21 in the first Rugby League test at Headingley today, after leading 11 6 at half-time. The game was fast and clean. Graves, Churchill and Mulligan played brilliantly for the Kangaroos. McCormack and Foster starred for England. A crowd of about 38.000 saw the match. Tries were scored for England by Foster (2), McCormack (2), Pimhlett (2), and Valentine. Ernest Ward kicked a goal. For Australia, McMahon (2). Froome, Graves and Hall >-<’red tries. Graves kicked three goals.
