New Record Speed For Motor-Cycle; 150.85 m.p.h.
Recd. 8.10 p.tn. New York, Sept. 14. The veteran Hollywood racing driver, Roland Free, today sent the “Black Shadow,’’ an alcoholburning British-made motor-cycle to a new world record of 150.85 miles an hour on the salt flats of Utah. He lay prone on the rear fender guard of the two-cylinder vehicle as he made four runs over a measured mile, looking through tile machine at a black guide line rather than stx*ght ahead.
