Q.A. Band Solo Competitions
Solo competitions under the control of the Queen Alexandra Band were held in the band room on Monday night. The “J- Soencer Cun” for junior players was won by Rex Mosen. R. Baker was runner-up. C. Spencer and C. Spurdie were equal for third. The president's cup open to all players resulted: E. Granville. 94, 1; H. Watts. 88. 2; E. Mosen, 86. 3; DMartin, 80, 4; A. Hussey ana S. Cox were equal 79. 5. The adjudicator. Mr. Farrell said the playing was of a high standard. E. Granville, the winner, has won the cun outright. The quartette cup competition held recently resulted in a wiu for S. Cox, R- Jellyman. 11. Watts Inr., and 11. Watts snr. N. Thomas, E. Hall. I. Baker and H. Watts were runner- up.
