Modified Service For Trans-Tasman Aircraft

(P.A.) Auckland, June 28. Revised arrangements for using Its own flying-boats and chartered land planes on the Tasman air service will be introduced next month by Tasman Empire Airways. Flying-boats will from next Monday make 24 return flights a month instead of 16 and the chartered Skymasters will fly 16 trips a month instead of 24 during July. Tlie immediate demand for air travel to New Zealand is still substantially below that for passages to Australia. The flving-boat that crossed to Sydney on Saturday had 18 passengers but only four reached Auckland by the flying-boat today. It is expected that under the revised arrangement for next month adequate loadings will be available for the two types of aircraft.
