Millhand Killed In Logging Accident
(PA) Gisborne, June 27. Severely crushed by a heavy log which rolled sideways on skids on which it had been hauled, Ml. David John Price, aged 45. married sawmiller, was killed instantly at Williams and Pederson's mill in Gisborne on Saturday afternoon. Mr Price was an experienced millhand. who. with his wife, came to Gisborne only three months ago. An awkward shaped log had been hauled on to the skids when it slew. ed sideways. Mr. Price, to straigh ten the log, leaned over the log, which rolled toward him trapping his hand beneath the wire. Before he was able to extricate his band the 10. rolled aeain. crushing him against the skids. He was dead when companicns extricated him.
