NEW MEMBER OF THE DAIRY BOARD

(P-A.) Wellington, June 23. Mr. A. J. Sinclair has been elected to the New Zealand Dairy Board as a representative of the Northern Ward, to fill the vacancy left by the retirement of Mr. A. J. Murdich recently. Mr. Sinclair, who founded the Te Awamutu Co-op Dairy Co. in 1925, has been manager and secretary for the company ever since. Results of the pc/ are as follows: A. J- Sinclair 26,286; E. G. Appleton (Dargaville) 12,279; W. N. Perry (Cambridge) 8298; S. C.‘ Spencer (Whakatane) 7507. Mr. Sinclair has been associated with the dairy industry for many years. He was assistant manager at. head office of the New Zealand Dairy Co. from 1920 to 1925, and has been a member of the Dairy Industry Council since its inception in 1938. Two years ago he published an historical review of the guaranteed price covering a period of 10 years, criticising the Government administration of the scheme. Nominated as one of six producer representatives on the Dairy Produce Marketing Commission, he was one of the three unsuccessful candidates when the Government made the final selection-
