Mother’s Union
CHRIST CHURCH BRANCH. There was a large attendance of all Wanganui branches of the Mothers’ Union at the June birthday meeting of the Christ Church branch. The Rev. J. R. L. Higgs conducted the church service and gave a short address on the formation of right habits—“ Sow a habit and you reap a character.” Door hostesses in the Parish Hall were Mesdames Weekes and Sisson. Mrs. Lambert welcomed those present and asked Mrs. J. R. L. Higgs to cut the birthday cake, a spray of flowers from which was presented to Mrs. Connett, the oldest Christ Church member. Songs were given by Mrs Phillips and Miss Margaret Fellow, Mr. Puryer being the accompanist. A competition, with representatives from all branches, to make a model hat from crepe paper, caused much amusement. Arrangements were made for the trip to Patea later in the month, and the meeting closed with the Benediction.
