Conscription In United States
Recd. 8.10 p.m. Washington, June 9 The Senate tonight amended the draft Bill to limit conscription to twer years instead of five. The proposal was made by Senator Wayne Morse, who argued that a peacetime draft for five years was "a good cause for great alarm that we may be moving too far towards an over-militarised State.”
