U.S. FOREIGN TRADE AGREEMENT ACT
SENATE VOTES TO EXTEND IT FOR ONE YEAR Recd. 8.10 p.m. Washington, June 9. The Senate Finance Committee voted today to extend the Foreign Trade Agreements Act for one. year, zith a less drastic revision than the House approved recently. The committee adopted a commomise amendment submitted by Senator Vandenberg, whereunder the (-resident must notify Congress within 30 days if he ignores the reeommendations of the Tariff Commission. The Senate is due to vote on an amended Bill tomorrow, after which House and Senate conferences will be equired before the legislation acceptable to both chambers can be submitted for President Truman's paragraphs.
