TWO BROTHERS HAVE SERIOUS INJURIES WHEN HEARSE SOMERSAULTS
(0.C.) Palmerston N., June 9. Two brothers were injured, one critically, the other seriously, when a hearse in which they accepted a ride left the roal after overtaking a motor truck travelling in the same direction along the Foxton - Sanson highway this afternoon, somersaulted three times and hurtled into a ditch. They were: John Kendrick Feeney, of 229 Hobson Street, Auckland; extent of injuries unknown, but condition reported to be critical. Robert Feeney, of the same address; extent of injuries unknown; condition reported to be serious. The hearse was driven by Percival John Dempsey, funeral director, of 16 Central Avenue, Wanganui. He stopped and gave a ride to the two brothers at Opiki, about eight miles south of Sanson. The hearse iKilled out to pass a motor truck when the accident occurred.. The driver of the hearse was not injured. The brothers were taken to the Palmerston Hospital.
