REPAIRS TO ROADS IN WAITOTARA COUNTY AFTER RECENT SLIPS

A review of the work carried out during the month in the clearing of siip.s brought down in the recent spell of wet weather was included in the report of the engineer (Mr. W. J. Gardiner) adopted at yesterday’s meeting of the Waitotara County Council.

! In the Waitotara Riding culverts land outlets were cleared on the Upper (Fakaraka and Rangitatau West roads, land small slips were cleared on Ran(gitatau West and Pukerimu roads. Saps on Waitotara Valley road were cleared by a bulldozer. Brewer Road and Rangitatau West and Maxwell Station roads were graded. Slips on Rangitatau East road were cleared by a bulldozer, and the road patched. In the Brunswick-Westmere Riding, the Blueskin Road and Western Line were patched, and Brunswick, Blueskin and Virginia Roads were graded. Slips and outlets were cleared in Handley Road, Tokomaru West Road, [Tokomaru East. Road, and Otakina hill on Brunswick R.D. Francis and Tayforth Roads were graded.

| In the Tokomaru Riding, watertables and culverts were cleared on the Kaurapaoa Road and slips were moved by a bulldozer. Flood damage was repaired on Ahu Ahu Road. Culverts and outlets in the Mosston Riding were cleared in Fox Road and Peakes Road. Caversham Road was patched and Fox Road was graded.
