Opposition Leader Receives No Copy Of Havana Charter
(P.A.) Christchurch, June 8. "Several weeks ago I wrote to Mr. Nash for a copy of the Havana trade agreement. He replied that n was being checked and would be available very soon. I have not yet received a copy,” said the Leader of the Opposition. Mr. S. G. Holland, this evening, when the complaints of several members of Parliament were referred to him.
“This is a complex, important and far-reaching document which will require careful study. There is now little time for such an examination before the matter is debated when the House resumes,” said Mr. Holland.
The Charter must be ratified by June 30, and the opening of Parliament has been advanced to allow the debate to take place in time.
