Wellington Flying Boat Base.
The Minister of Civil Defence (Mr. Jones) said that no definite proposal hnd come before him for a flying boai base at Evans Bay, Wellington, when I the Solent class flying boats were eventually operating between Australia and New Zealand. He was unable to say whether change,' in flying boat types or meteorological and other data gathered over the year., supported the suitability of Evans Bay as a base In the past that location had been ruled out by experts.— (P.A.)
