Fertiliser Trains Prove Effective
Hamilton, May 23 Large quantities of fertiliser have been delivered in the Te Kuiti, Otorohanga and Matamata district by weekend fertiliser trains which run from the Auckland fertiliser works to points in the Waikato beyond the 100-mile radius. Two special trains have been run, and about 1300 tons have been ce'ivered. The co-operation shown by the fertiliser workers, country carriers and the Railway Department has been described as one of the finest efforts by the Aid to Britain movement. The turn-round of trucks has been quick, all being in use on the following Monday with return loads. A special train to be run this week-end will deliver fertiliser at Otorohanga and Te Kuiti.
