New Catchment Board.
Tlie question of forming a catchment board for the Wanganui-Wai-iotara portion of the Wanganui Regional Planning Committee’s district has been the subject of -torpespondence .between the commiti'- and the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Council. A large portion of the comittee's area is already covered by the Rangitikei Catchment Board, but under recent legislation the formation of catchment boards is decided finally by the Local Government Commission.' It has been stnted, however, that the commission’s programme is fairly full for the rest of this year and present indications are that some time will elapse before a decision is reached regarding the formation of a Wanganui Catchment oßard.
