North Auckland To Play Maori Team On Return From Fiji
(P.A.) Wellington. May 31. Following a request from the North Auckland Rugby Union, the executive of the N.Z.R.U. has decided to arrange a match between North Auckland and the NZ Maori team on a date to be contingent on the date of the return of the team from Fiji. Mr. A. J. McDonald (convener) reported that he had a most successful meeting with the South Island All Black trial selectors in Christchurch last Saturday. A programme had been worked out to ensure the most thorough coverage possible. Notification of a challenge for the Ranfurly Shield was received from Hawke’s Bay.
