(P.A.) Wellington, May 31 In a special six-round contest tonight. R. Chooque (Otago), New Zealand amateur middleweight boxing champion, beat on points, S. Gunn (Pahiatua), who was runner-up to him for the New Zealand title.
Chooque moved faster over the early rounds to build up a points lead, showing a good variety of blows, and maintained this lead, despite a strong finish by Gunn.
