Finnish Cabinet Fails To Find A New Minister

Reed. 6.40 p.m. London, May 26. The Finnish Cabinet failed to agree on a successor to the dismissed Communist Minister of the Interior, Mr. Leino, says Reuter’s Helsinki correspondent. The assistant Minister of the Interior, Mr. Kilpi, who has been acting Minister of the Interior, refused to remain in the post and laid it down yesterday. The Moscow radio declared that the reason for the dismissal of Leino was a three-year-old story raked up by right-wing newspapers. (Paasikivi dismissed Leino for handing over’slieged war criminals to Russia). The Moscow radio added that the fact that reactionary newspapers of several countries also played up the allegation against Leino, showed the indictment was a planned campaign.
