WUO'D BE A CRITIC? Somebody said that the Australian circket team now in England would not fare so well. He said something about weak bowling. Who was he? Only a cricket critic, by crikey’ MILK RUNNING LOW. Gonville and Castlecliff, it is reported, have not taken kindly to the news that milk is to be rationed. “We’re in Taranaki, politically speaking,” they say, “and that, at least, should entitle us to the fruits of a dairying industry.” We, who live just over the border from the bit of “Old Taranaki” that exists within our city, point out that cream is the last thing one sees on one’s porridge north of that imaginary line above Waverley, where it says “here endeth the Wellington Province, and here beginneth Taranaki.” Gonville and the Cliff will just have to grin and bear the milk | shortage like the rest of us.
