Navy League’s Tribute To Two Workers For Food For Britain

At a meeting of the women’s branch of the Navy League Food for Britain Campaign, Wanganui, held yesterday, Mrs. Lorimer and Mrs. Murray resigned after two years’ splendid service as chairman and secretary respectively, and their services were placed on record.

During those two years £4220 worth of goods, involving 605 cases, were collected and sent to Britain. The organisation went into recess from the time the Aid for Britain campaign was inaugurated, but because so little has been achieved in seven months, decided to function again under the presidency of Mr. N. R. Bain and ’chairmanship of Mrs. Gower. As all food collected is sent through the Ministry of Food, it is hoped that the public will again give their suppert to this recognised organisation.
