FARMER INJURED WHEN GUNPOWDER EXPLODES

(P.A.) Napier, May 25 Severe burns to body, arms and face were received by William James McGrath, farmer. Napier, when a 101 b. tin of gunpowder exploded nearby while he was engaged blasting logs on his Riverbend Road property this afternoon. McGrath, an elderly man was admitted to the Public Hospital. His condition is believed to be serious. It is not known how the gunpowder ignited.
