Romance Comes To Circus Stars

(P-A.) Nelson, May 24. Romance has come in a big way to Skuthorpe’s rodeo circus which is at present in Nelson. This afternoon two of the show’s leading partners starred in a new act when they entered double harness with Christchurch brides. It was a double ceremony at the Nelson Registry Office, where the registrar (Mr. P. Martin) officiated.

The contracting parties were Mr. J. C. Cells (Christiano, the tight wire walker), of Sydney, and Miss Averill Musson, of Christchurch, and Mr. R. Skinner (one of the leading roughriders) of Coonamble, New South Wales, and Miss Margery Nelson, of Christchurch.

Wedding or no wedding, the show must go on and both bridegrooms will appear in their usual roles at tonight’s session. Twenty members of the rodeo staff rode through the town on their way to the wedding, the horses forming a guard of honour after the ceremony-
