Ruapehu Rugby Sub-Union

MEETING OF COMMITTEE. (0.C.) Ohakune, May 7. Presided over by Mr. C. Power, a meeting of the Ruapehu Sub-Uhion was held recently. Subject to two players being graded senior, it was agreed to regrade the Waiouru team from senior to junior. An application from the United Junior Club inviting a Ruapehu team to visit Ohura on May 22. It was resolved to accept the invitation. The Ruapehu Referees’ Association wrote requesting flags for each team. Flags are to be purchased as well as six whistles. Mr. A. Reynolds, who was referee in the Raetihi-Karioi match, reported the ordering off of a Karioi player. It was decided to stand the player down for one playing Saturday. It was agreed to stamp out the practice of late tackling. A seven-a-side tournament will be held at Ohakune on May 30. Nominations close on May 22. On the motion of Mr. F. Soar, seconded by Mr. Winston Pearce, it was agreed to donate £lO to the United Nations appeal for starving children.
