FULL POWER CUTS ARE RE-IMPOSED BY WANGANUI BOARD
Because the Wanganui-Rangitikei Electric Power Board last week exceeded its allocation of electric power by 3i per cent., the beard has received an urgent instruction from the electricity controller to keep the load within the allocation. From tonight the 6.30 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. cut will be reintroduced, the board’s engineer (Mr. H. \yebb) announced last night. This early evening cut will not be made on Friday or Sunday nights, however. Consumers are also requested to turn on their electric hot water heaters only between the hours ot 9 p.m. and 7 a.m. The board also requests that consumers should restrict the use of radiators to a minimum.
For the week ending next Monday, the Wanganui-Rangitikei Electric Power Board reaches its maximum allocation for the year and after that It gradually decreases.
