STUDENT ACCOUNTANTS
WELL ATTENDED LUNCHEON MEETING. Evidence that qualified accountants are prepared to give liberal help to accountant students was obtained yesterday when the Wanganui Accountants Students’ Society held its first luncheon meeting of the year. The speaker was Mr. C. H. Leighton, of the Land and Income Tax Department, and his subject was "The Duties of Trustees of Recently Deceased Taxpayers.” There was a large attendance and the number of qualified accountants present indicated the high value they place on the society, with its facilities for aiding those studying for accountancy degrees. It was found in the past that meetings at night interfered with study hours, which are so important to students, and the suggestions that meetings he held during lunch hour was taken up enthusiastically. If the interest shown by the attendance yesterday is any criterion, luncheon meetings will be popular and valuable to members.
