FINAL WANGANUI WOOL SALE WILL HAVE CARD OF 21,500 BALES
A catalogue consisting of 17.000 bales of stock wools and 4500 bales of growers’ wool will be offered at the Anal wool sale of the current season in the Opera House next Friday. The sale will start at 2 p.m. instead of in the morning as at the previous sales during the season. This is possible as the stock wool is mostly comprised of large offerings and the sale should be finished about 5.30 p.m. Buyers are expected to arrive in Wanganui ' tomorrow to begin the task of inspecting and valuing the wool.
There is little of the present season's clip of greasy wool unsold in the Wanganui district, and Friday's sale should see the last of it disposed of. Prices at the beginning of the season started at a high level and showed an increase at the next sale. Values at the March sale, however, were lower than at the previous offerings, but the wool offered was not of a comparative standard. Values have been steady at recent sales, and it is expected that there will be little difference at the final Wanganui sale.
