Wanganui A.T.C. Cadet Joins Air Force For Aircrew Training
The first Wanganui Air ‘Training Corps cadet to be accepted for aircrew training with the post - war Royal New Zealand Air Force is Mr. P. Stevens, who left yesterday for Wigram to begin his initial training. Mr. Stevens, who is a Wanganui Aero Club trained pilot, has been accepted for training as a navigator. He was one of the four Wanganui Air Training Corps cadets who recently was given dual and solo flying inunder the Government’s training scheme. When he left, yesterday, Mr. Stevens flew the Wanganui Aero Club s canopy Tiger Moth to Harewood, where it is to undergo an inspection for the renewal of its certificate of airworthiness.
