Messrs H. G. Caddy, D Chen and H. H. Smith have been elected life members of the Wanganui Philatelic Society.

Mr. J. Tyrell-Baxter, M.A., 8.D., Ph.D., has been appointed as successor to Mr. H, C. Bischoff at the Wellington South Church of Christ, and will begin his ministry towards the end of the year.

Mr. K. J. Holyoake, M.P., DeputyLeader of the National Party, will be a visitor to Marton tomorrow for the purpose of attending the National Party Ball. He will be accompanied by Mrs. Holyoake, and they will be the guests of Mr. and Mrs. E. B. Gordon, "Braemore.”

Mr. C. Baker, of the staff of the Labour Department at Wanganui, has received notice of his transfer to Dunedin. Mr. Baker has filled the position of inspector of scaffolding in the Wanganui-Taranaki district since 1936 and combined with these duties the inspectorships of factories, awards and fair rents. Mr. Baker has been an inmate of the Wanganui Public Hospital for some time and it may be several months before he takes over his new position.
