Rowing of a good standard Was seen when the first series of interhouse rowing races of the Wanganui Collegiate School were held on Saturday afternoon.
In the A. section, Grey beat Selwyn by half a length. The crews were Grey. L. Dixon (st.), J. H. Blackley, J. Powdrell, R. M. Benjamin (bow), cox, P. Harkness. Selwyn: R. G. Dewhirst (st.), C. King, J. R. Williams, B. D. Gordon (bow). Cox, J. Hives.
In the B grade Harvey beat a composite crew. Harvey: R. G. Goreman (St.), J. N. Forde, N. Aiderton, A. Cameron bow), Cox, I. Longstaff; Composite crew: W. Brydon (st.), A. K. Cameron, P. B. Hall, D. Jones (bow), cox, P. Harkness.
Selwyn beat Hadfield by half a length. Selwyn: Thompson (st.), Tylee, Dalby, Riddell (bow), cox, J. Hives. Hadfield: P. Mason (st.), H. B. Simpson, R. Barker, J. Lyons (bow), cox, T. Duncan. A further series will be held today at 4.30 p.m.
