FLETCHER AND RAINE HAVE FIVE WINS RICHDALE, TILLEY, STEEL, AND HARRIS (WANGANUI) FOUR. (0.C.) New Plymouth, Jan. 28. Fletcher and Raine, both of Wanganui East, have been the most successful of the Wanganui contingent at the Taranaki Bowling Centre’s open fours tournament. Both have five wins and one loss in their sections, and need only one win to-mor-row to qualify for post-section play. Of The remaining Wanganui men, Richdale (Gonville), Tilley (Wanganui), Steel (Wanganui), and Harris (Wanganui), with four wins and two losses, need to win both remaining games to be sure of qualifying Results to-day were.— Section A: Hutton (Marton) lost to Connor (Carlton) 19-31, lost to Trott (Cambridge) 18-20, and has two wins and four losses. Section B: Richdale (Gonville) lost to Delicti (Carlton) 16-31, and beat Birkett (Paritutu) 31-11 (four wins two losses). Section C: Kirkwood (St. John’s) beat Butler (Carlton) 26-16, and lost to Coombes (Hamilton) 12-22 (three wins, three losses). • Section D: Tilley (Wanganui) lost to Brownlee (Carlton) 22-32 and beat Finch (Paritutu) 26-12 (four wins, two losses). Section E: Thomas (Ohakune) lost to Gleeson (Papatoetoe) 14-25, and lost to Hawke (Hamilton) 28-27 (two wins, four losses). Section F: Morgan (Waverley) lost to McGiven (Fitzroy) 27-20, and lost to Boulton (West End) 17-27 (two wins, four losses). Harris (St. John's) beat Peckston (Papatoetoe) 23-22 and lost to Smyth (Piopio) 24-31 (three wins, three losses). Section G: Raine (Wanganui East) lost to Sanderson (Papatoetoe) 21-22, and beat Wright (Matamata) 22-20 (five wins, one loss). Section H: Walker (Wanganui) lost) to Skoglund (Otahuhu) 8-34, lost to Willis (Cambridge) 21-22 (six losses). Section I: Webby (Wanganui East) lost to Dawson (Otahuhu) 4-27, lost to Borish (Te Awamutu) 22-33 (two wins, four losses). Section J: Fletcher (Wanganui East) beat Kemp (Otahuhu) 30-15, and beat Biddle (Cosmopolitan) 2616 (five wins, one loss). Section K: Armstrong Gonville) beat Rodgers (Feilding) 29-15, and lost to Pilkington (Hamilton) 26-27 (two wins, four losses). Section L: Steel (Wanganui) beat Simpson (Palmerston) 28-2 U, and beat Coutts (Whitiora) 26-16 (four wins, two losses). Section M: Harris (Wanganui) beat Hewitt (Feilding) 28-21, and lost to Blackwell (Putaruru) 16-25 (four wins, two losses). Section N: Tizard (St. John’s) lost to Gordon (Terrace End) 13-24, and lost to O’Neill (Hamilton) 16-22 (two wins, four losses).
