At the end of four rounds of section play in the Taranaki Bowling Centre’s fours’ tournament one Wanganui four remains undefeated, that skipped by W. Raine (Wanganui East). Of the 15 Wanganui fours taking part, two—Walker (Wanganui) with four losses, and Armstrong (Gonville), with three losses—seem certain to be eliminated. Hutton (Marton), had a win and a loss in Section A, beating Henderson (Whakatane) 27-13 and losing to Burndred Mangere) 14-25. He has two wins and two losses. In Section B, Richdale (Gonville). won both games and has won three out of four. He beat Postman (Rotorua) 26-17, and Henderson (Waitara) 2816. Kirkwood (St. John's), in Section C, beat Bert (Whakatane), 26-14, and Thorpe (Balmoral) 27-19, giving him two wins and two losses. . Tilley (Wanganui) beat Moore (New Plymouth), 25-18, and Parlane (Te Kuiti) 39-20, giving him three wins. Thomas (Ohakune) lost both games today to Bartlett (Tauranga) 18-33, and to Howe (Patamahoe) 19-31, giving him two’wins and losses. In Section E, Morgan (Waverley), beat Greening (Manawatu) 23-22, and lost to Lovell (Paritutu) 20-33. He now has two wins and losses. In the same section Harris (St. John's) is in a similar position, having beaten McGiven (Fitzroy) 24-23, but losing to a strong four skipped by Boulton (West End) 12-28. Raine (Wanganui East) now has four wins in Section G. Today he beat Datson (Foxton) 40-9 and Higginbotham (Auckland) 31-21. Walker (Wanganui) has yet to win a game. In Section Hhe lost to Preston (Grey Lynn) 20-23, and Gatton (Stratford.) 22-28. Webby (Wanganui East) lost to Sullivan (New Plymouth) 23-25, but beat Bath (Piopio) 28-15. He nas now won and lost two games. Fletcher (Wanganui East) has won three games in Section J. He beat Pearson (West End' 25-22, but lost to Turton (Huntly) 14-28. Armstrong (Gonville) won his first game in Section K when he beat Luxton (Whakatane) 29-22, but lost to Hotter (Okato) 19-23. Steel (Wanganui), who lost two games on Monday in Section L, won both today against Lawn (Taneatua) 26-18, and Preik (Fitzroy) 26-15. Harris (Wanganui) beat Good (Whakatane) 30-25 and Brier (Paritutu) 27-18, giving him three wins. In Section N, Tizard (St. John's) now has two wins and two losses. He beat Kirk (Tauranga) 26-24, but lost to Oakley (Hawera) 17-34.
