TWO YOUNG BOYS ELECTROCUTED ON FARM NEAR MAXWELL
When they came into contact with an electric power wire while playing on the roof of a woolshed at Maxwell yesterday afte.aoon, Peter David Hare, aged seven years, and Christopher James Hare, aged five years, were electrocuted. They were the sons of Mr. and Mrs. N. Hare, of Maxwell. The two boys were playing on the roof of a woolshed on the Moore Estate at Maxwell. They were told by their father, who was drafting sheep, to ccme down. About five minutes later another man heard a thud and found Peter Hare lying on the ground. He ran to bring the father, and when the two arrived back they saw the other boy lying on the roof with his left hand gripping a power line. The father climbed on to the roof and dragged the boy away, and in doing so, received a shock. Medical assistance was called but when the doctor arrived he could only affirm that death had been instantaneous. An inquest was opened yesterday afternoon before the district coroner, Mr. A. J. Larsen. Evidence of identification was given and the inquest was adjourned sine die.
