GUN DOG CLUB HAS PICNIC AND TRIALS AT PARIKINO
The Wanganui Gun Dog Club’s annual picnic trial was held at Parikino on Saturday and good entries were received. Several practice trials were held during the day, the object of these being to enable members to keep the older dogs in practice and to encourage the younger dogs and their handlers. The following were the results of the main events: — Land event, puppy: Mrs. R. Timbs’ “Fingo,” 75 points, 1; Mr. W. E. Davis’ “Terry of Tongariro,” 74, 2; Mr. J. Ruscoe’s “Dawn,” and Mr. J. Ruscoe’s “Mate,” 63, equal, 3. Water event, puppy: Mr. and Mrs. R. M. Spooner’s “Spany of Eastbrook” and Mr, J. Ruscoe’is “Mate?’ 98, equal, 1; Mrs. R. Timbs ’“Fingo,” 97, 2; Mr. W. E. Robbie’s “Watercraft of Pembroke,” 95, 3. Water event, open: Mrs. N. M. Izard’s “Appeal of Pembroke,” 98, 1; Messrs, N. M. Izard and W. E. Robbie’s “Ch. Durley Beechtwigg” (imp,.) 97, 2; Mr. W. E.
