FEILDING WEDDING

STAINES—CORNFOOT. Hydrangeas, gladioli, and carnations decorated St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Palmerston North, on January 17, when relatives and friends from many parts of Manawatu and Hawke's Bay gathered to attend the wedding of Lenore Joy, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Ccrnfoot, "Surrey Farm,” Bulls, and lan Peter, younger son of Mr. and Mrs. F. Staines, Waipukurau. Rev. C. C. Hoskin, Bulls, officiated. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a beautifully trained gown of ivory embossed satin, featuring a heart-shaped neckline with crystal bead trimming outlining a diamond-shaped basque at the wais't and shoulder yokes. Her lovely Brussels lace veil, lent by Mrs. H. Cornfoot (aunt of the bride), was held in place by a coronet of white begonias, and she carried a shower bouquet of carnations, roses, and .gladioli. The bridesmaids, Miss Ava Cornfoot (sister of the bride) and Miss Nancy Mair, of Feilding (cousin of the bride), both wore slightly trajped frocks of pale turquoise in similar material to that of the bride’s, made with gracefully-flared peplums, heartshaped necklifles and short rucked sleeves. Pale turquoise net was worn for mittens and scalloped veils, the latter being surmounted by coronets of pale pink carnations. Linked diamante dress ornaments, the gifts of the bridegroom, were worn at the neckline, and they carried bouquets of pink carnations, roses, and gladioli. The best man was Mr. Peter Russell, and the groomsman Mr. Derek MeCoskery, both of Waipukurau. The ushers were Messrs. Arthur Tait and Stuart Gledhill. At the reception held later at the P.D.C., 150 guests were received by the bride’s mother, who wore a dusky rose silk suit with navy accessories and matching corsage of flowers. Mrs. Cornfoot was assisted by the bridegroom’s mother, who wore a forget-me-not blue ensemble with navy accessories. For travelling the bride wore a frock of Marina blue crepe with a side drape and beaded design on the bodice. Her hat of toning felt was trimmed with veiling and pink flowers, and she carried an off-white camel hair coat and accessories. The future home of the couple will be in Waipukurau.*
