COALFIELDS’ STRIKE ENDED IN N. S. W.

Recd. 8.40 p.m. Sydney, Jan. 26 The strike by coalfields engineers which lost 133,000 tons of coal since last Wednesday is now over. Enginedrivers at Bulli, Weston and Lithgow today accepted a recommendation to return, to work from the State executive of the Federated Engine-drivers’ and Firemen’s Association. Other meetings of enginemen are expected to endorse the decision, but in any case they cannot outvote the present decision. The engine-drivers will resume at 11 p.m. today, enabling coal production to be resumed tomorrow. Coal will be on its way to Sydney by tomorrow afternoon and to other States by Wednesday night.
