Awapuni, Taranaki And Dunedin Race Meetings Conclude
Holiday racing and trotting meetings were continued on Saturday in tine weather. At the Manawatu meeting, Yasda, Castlebrae and The Stormovik won the main events. Dunbar won the New Plymouth Handicap at the Taranaki fixture, and Authentic scored in the Dunedin Jockey Club Handicap at Wingatui, where Excellency took the honours in the James Hazlett Gold Cup. Single Direct won the Auckland Trotting Cup. principal event on the opening day at Epsom. Trotting meetings were also held at Winton and Westport, and at the latter fixture there was a record West Coast dividend of over two centuries There will be further racing today at Ellerslie.
