MANAWATU TEAM TO MEET WANGANUI
(0.C.) Palmerston North, Dec. 28. The Manawatu cricket selectors (Messrs. A. M. Ongley, A. C. McVicar, and W. E. Norris) last night announced the following team to play Wanganui in a Hawke Cup elimination cricket match:— M. A. Ongley (captain), O. C. McVicar, R. R. Dilks, R. K. Adcock, F. Collis, D. I. Hearsey, J. Laurenson, V. C. Holland, D. Dean, N. Sherer, H. D. Harkness. 12th. man, R. Booker D. Bowden, who, with Colin McVicar is one of Manawatu's recognised opening bats, will not be available for the next game. B. D. Miller, the team’s third drop batsman and an aggressive bowler, is another who is unavailable. They are replaced by Adcock and Sherer.
