SEVEN DEATHS FROM INFANTILE PARALYSIS IN AUCKLAND AREA

( p A ) Auckland, Dec. 28. Although a further death from infantile paralysis has occurred at the Auckland Hospital, the total number of fatal cases in Auckland remains at seven. The Medical Officer of Health at Auckland (Dr. L. S. Davis) said that the death of a ooy aged 12 from Wiri reported on Friday had been included in the list of fatal cases. Tests had shown that the boy’s death v.as not caused by poliomyelitis. The latest death was of a married man, aged 29, from the city area. Four suspected cases, two of which have been proved to be positive, were admitted to the Auckland Hospital during the wc~k-end.
