YOUNG GIRL DROWNED AT PAREMATA

(P.A.) Wellington. Dee. 28 An eight-year-old girl was drowned at Paremata on Saturday afternoon. She was Clare Mavis Henshall, whose parents reside at Dolly Varden, Paremata. With her younger brother, the girl was swimming from the Dolly Varden beach. They went out a good distance and the brother returned alone. The girl’s mother called for help. An unki.own bystander went out and got! the girl ashore. She was taken to the Porirua Hospital, where she was given oxygen treatment and artificial respiration was carried on in the ambulance on the way from there to the Wellington Hospital. On arrival there she was dead.
