Britain To Pay Higher Price For Butter From Australia

Canberra, Dec. 26. The Minister of Commerce and Agriculture, Mr. Pollard, announces that negotiations with the British have resulted in contract prices for better being advanced to 203 s 6d a hundredweight and cheese 106 6s a hundredweight as from July 1 last. Both prices are sterling. Th? new butter price is 30s a hundredweight higher than previously and is equivalent to 2s 3d a pound (Aust.). The Australian Government guarantees the farmer 2s a pound for commercial butter for five years as from April 1 last. The extra money will go to the Government.
